Drumroll, please! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are in the news! Again! For, like, the hundredth time this month! Somebody get me the phone number for their PR rep, because whoever that person is, they deserve a raise. The current scuttle-butt, beyond the usual litany of slightly bizarre and ridiculous things Kanye West says, is that they are finally moving out of Kim's Mom's house, and moving into digs of their own. (And that has to be a relief for everyone involved.) Never fear, however. Their new home is just a short walk from Kim's mother, because living in a different city or even on another block would require two separate reality show crews, and that would just make the world implode. Anyway, backing off from the snark (only a little) and returning to reporting on their new home.
If you haven't yet heard, Kanye West is an award-winning musician, who has managed to polarize the music community somewhat. He has a penchant for alienating everybody without seeming to try very hard at it. However, he is also a quite talented musician and producer, so everyone makes a valiant attempt to look the other way. Except when he's just being a jerk. Kim Kardashian made a name for herself in the reality show business. If "The Real World" put the reality show genre on the map, Kim Kardashian and her reality show empire, emerged as its reigning queen. From the leaked sex tape that put her on the map, to her multi-million dollar television special nuptials to Kris Humphries, Kim has made a career out of being in front of the camera doing next to nothing except living the good life. Her marriage to Kanye West and the birth of their first child were both publicized to within an inch of their lives. Their recent home purchase is no different.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian's new home is in Calabasas, California, and cost the pair known as Kimye, a healthy $20 million. The home is 8,000 square feet and two stories tall. It's comprised of 10 bedrooms and eight bathrooms.
It's surrounded by a stone gate and features a large circular drive in front of the main entrance. The interior sports winding staircases, high open-beam ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows, and multiple fireplaces. The kitchen is massive and has three separate islands. There are wood floors in some rooms, marble floors in others, and private sitting areas in the bedrooms. The house is surrounded by landscaped grounds and multiple terraces, many accessible directly from the first floor bedrooms. There are two spas, two swimming pools, and a guest house. A private vineyard rounds out the opulent compound. All within walking distance of Mom. What more could the new parents ask for?
