Frank Ocean Paid $6.3 Million For This House In Malibu

It turns out that Frank Ocean is as secretive in his real estate purchasing habits as he's been known to be in his music career. That's why it's only being reported now by The Dirt that the Channel Orange R&B auteur paid about $6.3 million for a 2,802-square-foot house in a secluded corner of Malibu, California some two years ago, and it's only now being publicly reported.

The house was built back in 1955, and before Ocean purchased it outright, it was reportedly being leased by another famous face, albeit a less critically-respected one: Dina Manzo of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

As for the house itself, it sits on an idyllic 1.5-acre lot surrounded by dense greenery, and it's easy to see why its abundance of privacy would appeal to the famously private Ocean. Described by The Dirt as "spacious yet perfectly ordinary," the house has five bedrooms including a spacious master suite with walk-in closet and soaking tub, as well as amenities like and an outdoor patio overlooking the Pacific Ocean and nearby Catalina Island.

Ocean purchased the property two years ago and hasn't demolished the house, but aerial images taken of the property recently indicate he is extensively renovating it. And should he decide he needs some extra space, he's got plenty of room on the property to expand the house, since almost all of the 1.5-acre lot is said to be usable. At the moment, the only major outdoor features on the property are a fenced-in pasture and regulation tennis court.

The images are from a couple of years ago, so they don't reflect any recent renovations that Frank has done on the place, but you can take a look at his miniature Malibu ranch in the video below, courtesy of the Equity Advisors, Real Estate Services YouTube channel:
