The Billionaire Metropoulos Family's Iconic Homes

The Metropoulos family specializes in saving iconic companies. C. Dean Metropoulos, the 71-year-old family patriarch has made his $2.5 billion fortune buying and resurrecting iconic brands Hostess, Vlasic Pickles, Utz snacks, Chef Boyardee, and Pabst beer. His sons, 37-year-old Evan and 34-year-old Daren are making names for themselves by buying super expensive and also iconic properties, including the Playboy Mansion. Evan currently has his West Hollywood penthouse on the market for $58 million, more than twice what he paid for it. That could buy a lot of Twinkies!

Purchase Price: $18 million

Details:This 2.3 acre property is next door to the Playboy Mansion and will become a part of that property.

Sierra Towers

West Hollywood, CA

Year Purchased: 2015

Purchase Price: $31 million

Asking Price:$58 million

Details: The purchase price was for two apartments that were combined as well as a number of other units that make up a penthouse with 7,000 square feet inside and 4,000 square feet of balconies. The property has views of the city, mountains, and ocean.

Purchase Price:$47 million

Details:Located on a 1.3 acre peninsula with a private lagoon, the home is 11,000 square feet with six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

1187 N. Hillcrest Road

Beverly Hills, CA

Year Purchased: 2017

Purchase Price: $65 million

Details: A 7-bedroom, 10 bathroom, 18,000 square foot villa on 2.5 acres with panoramic views and gold leaf crown molding.

The Playboy Mansion

10236 Charing Cross Road

Los Angeles, CA

Year Purchased: 2016

Purchase Price:$100 million

Details:The deal gave Hugh Hefner the right to reside in the iconic mansion until his death. The 20,000 square foot home has 12 bedrooms and 21 bathrooms on 5 acres. The property also has a guesthouse, game house, and the famous grotto.
