James Cameron Made A Titanic Amount Of Money By Trading Salary For Backend Profits On "Titanic"
Back in late 1996, production of "Titanic" was way over budget. As a compromise to Fox, the studio backing the production, director James Cameron gave up his $8 million salary in exchange for a boosted share of backend points. That was a good move.
