Scott Speedman is a Canadian actor who has a net worth of $6 million. Scott Speedman is known for his roles on such television series as "Felicity," "Animal Kingdom," and "Grey's Anatomy." He has also appeared in many films, including "Dark Blue," "The Strangers," "Barney's Version," "Crimes of the Future," and the "Underworld" films.

Early Life and Education

Robert Scott Speedman was born on September 1, 1975 in London, England to Scottish parents Mary and Roy. He had a sister named Tracey. When Speedman was four years old, he moved with his family to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There, he attended Earl Haig Secondary School, where he was a competitive swimmer. Speedman competed on the Canadian Junior National Swim Team but had to discontinue his swimming career following a neck injury. He subsequently turned his focus toward acting, and attended the University of Toronto and York University for college. Speedman later studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York City for a brief time.

Television Career

In 1995, Speedman made his television debut in an episode of "Kung Fu: The Legend Continues." Later that year, he had a recurring role on "Nancy Drew" and appeared in the Canadian television film "Net Worth." Speedman was in a number of other television films after that, including "Giant Mine," "Dead Silence," and "Every 9 Seconds." He had his career breakthrough in 1998 when he began playing sulky college student Ben Covington on the WB series "Felicity." Speedman starred opposite Keri Russell on all four seasons of the show through the spring of 2002. It would be a decade before he had another television role, which came on the ABC military drama "Last Resort" in 2012. On that show, Speedman played the main role of Executive Officer Sam Kendal in a cast that also included Andre Braugher, Daisy Betts, Robert Patrick, and Daniel Lissing. "Last Resort" ran for one season before it was canceled.

After another break, Speedman returned to television in 2016 to play the main role of Baz Blackwell on the TNT crime drama series "Animal Kingdom." He appeared alongside Ellen Barkin, Shawn Hatosy, Ben Robson, and Jake Weary, among others. Speedman left "Animal Kingdom" after its third season but returned in a guest capacity for the sixth and final season in 2022. Meanwhile, in 2018, he made his debut on "Grey's Anatomy," playing the guest role of Dr. Nick Marsh in season 14. Speedman returned to the series in 2021, for season 18, as a regular cast member. He also played the recurring role of Matthew Engler in the third season of the psychological thriller series "You." In 2024, Speedman starred on the short-lived Peacock horror series "Teacup." Others in the cast included Yvonne Strahovski, Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Rob Morgan, and Diane Rodriguez.

In the latter, Speedman played lycan-vampire hybrid Michael Corvin. He went on to star in "The 24th Day" in 2004, followed by a role as an NSA agent in the 2005 action spy film "XXX: State of the Union." Real Estate

For many years, the actor resided in the trendy Eastside neighborhoods of Los Angeles, frequently spotted around Los Feliz and Silver Lake. Notably, he lived in an airy, mid-century Silver Lake home designed by the renowned architect Robert Byrd, which served as his primary home base while he continued to build his television and film resume.

In April 2023, Speedman made a significant, highly publicized real estate upgrade, purchasing a secluded estate in the Kinneloa Mesa region of Pasadena for $3.295 million. The 1950s-built, 3,824-square-foot home features five bedrooms, custom wood trim, and classic architectural built-ins. The true draw of the property, however, is its sprawling size; the house sits on 2.25 acres of picturesque, heavily wooded grounds, providing the actor, his fiancée, and their children with immense privacy and immediate access to the nearby San Gabriel Mountains.
