Early Life and Education
Nadia Bjorlin was born on August 2, 1980 in Newport, Rhode Island as the second eldest child of Iranian interior designer Fary and renowned Swedish composer and conductor Ulf. When she was still an infant, she moved with her family to Sweden. Throughout her childhood, Bjorlin moved back and forth with her family between Sweden and the United States due to her father's work, living in such cities as Stockholm, Los Angeles, and Palm Beach. She received arts education at Interlochen Center for the Arts in Michigan, the Boston University Tanglewood Institute in Massachusetts, and the Palm Beach County School of the Arts in Florida. Bjorlin sang with the Palm Beach Opera and won a gold medal as part of a choir group performing in Verona, Italy. She completed her high school education at the Professional Children's School in New York City. In 1999, Bjorlin won the Metro Lyric Opera competition, but she decided to focus on an acting career following her high school graduation.
Television Career
Bjorlin had her career breakthrough with her first major acting role, as Chloe Lane on the NBC soap opera "Days of Our Lives." She was a regular cast member on the show from 1999 to 2003 before serving in a recurring role from 2003 to 2005. Following guest roles on the UPN soap opera "Sex, Love & Secrets" and the CBS sitcom "Out of Practice," Bjorlin returned to "Days of Our Lives" as a regular cast member in 2007. She left the show again in 2011 and starred on the short-lived E! reality series "Dirty Soap." Just prior to that, Bjorlin had appeared in episodes of "NCIS" and "Two and a Half Men." She returned to "Days of Our Lives" again in 2013, but this time just for a short stint. Bjorlin's next stint on the show was much longer, lasting from 2015 to 2023. Meanwhile, she has guest-starred on such other shows as "Anger Management," "2 Broke Girls," and "Satisfaction."

In 2007, Bjorlin appeared in the film "If I Had Known I Was a Genius," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival early in the year. That spring, she starred as auto mechanic, race car driver, and aspiring musician Natasha Martin in the street racing thriller "Redline." Bjorlin next appeared in the 2008 thriller "Jack Rio." In 2012, she starred alongside Jonathan Bennett and Jamie-Lynn Sigler in the romcom "Divorce Invitation." Bjorlin didn't have many film credits over the ensuing years. In 2020, she had a small role in the comedy "Faith Based."
Web Series
In 2009, Bjorlin began playing lesbian author Lara Miller in the soap opera web series "Venice: The Series." Partly inspired by a storyline from the CBS soap opera "Guiding Light," the series features former "Guiding Light" stars Crystal Chappell, Jessica Leccia, Gina Tognoni, and Jordan Clarke. For her work in the series, Bjorlin earned an Indie Series Award nomination.
Charitable Endeavors
Since the passing of her father from leukemia in 1993, Bjorlin has been involved in charitable endeavors related to leukemia awareness and research. She launched the group Nadia's Cancer Crusaders and participated in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's annual Light the Night walk.
Personal Life
In the early 2000s, Bjorlin dated Los Angeles-based radio personality Frank Kramer. She subsequently dated actor Bruce Willis, and then subprime lending tycoon Daniel Sadek, to whom she was briefly engaged. From about 2007 to 2013, Bjorlin was in a relationship with her "Days of Our Lives" co-star Brandon Beemer. She then dated property developer Grant Turnbull, whom she married in 2015. Together, they have two sons named Torin and Viggo.
Bjorlin has language fluency in English, Swedish, and Persian, and is also conversant in Italian, French, and Russian. Her eclecticism extends to music, as she plays the piano, harp, flute, and guitar.
