Amber Valletta was born on February 9, 1974 in Tucson, Arizona and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She has Portuguese, Italian, English, and Cherokee ancestry, and is a Cherokee Nation citizen. Her younger half-brother is actor, producer, and television host Robert Parks-Valletta.
Modeling Career
When Valletta was 15, her mother enrolled her in modeling school at the Linda Layman Agency. She had her career breakthrough in early 1993 when she graced the cover of Vogue for the first time. Valletta would appear on the American Vogue cover 12 more times during the decade. She also graced the covers of such US magazines as Allure, Marie Claire, Shape, and V, and appeared on the covers of such international fashion magazines as German Cosmopolitan, Spanish Elle, and British Esquire.
One of the most prominent supermodels of her era, Valletta served as the face of such luxury brands as Chanel, Valentino, Gucci, Versace, Prada, Giorgio Armani, and Louis Vuitton. Valletta married her first husband, Hervé Le Bihan, in 1994. They divorced two years later. She later began dating Olympic volleyball player Chip McCaw, with whom she had a son named Auden in 2000. They married in 2003 and divorced in 2015.

Amber's primary residence for many years was a 2,500 square-foot home in Santa Monica, California. She purchased the home in 2001 for $1.65 million. She sold the house in 2016 for $4.995 million. The following year, she paid $4.2 million for a home nearby in the Pacific Palisades. She listed this home for sale in September 2020 for $5.9 million.
