What is Jeremy Bloom's Net Worth?

Jeremy Bloom is an American former competitive freestyle skier and professional football player who has a net worth of $2 million. Beginning his career as a skier, Jeremy Bloom won the dual moguls event at the 2003 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships and was the overall champion of the 2004-05 Freestyle Skiing World Cup. As a football player, he was a member of the NFL's Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers, but did not play in any regular-season games for either team.

Early Life and Education

Jeremy Bloom was born on April 2, 1982, in Fort Collins, Colorado to Charlene, a ski and fly fishing instructor, and Larry, a clinical psychologist. His mother is Christian and his father is Jewish. Bloom's older sister is Molly Bloom, an author, entrepreneur, and former competitive skier who became notorious for organizing illegal poker games in Los Angeles.

Raised in Loveland, Colorado, Bloom attended Loveland High School. For his higher education, he went to the University of Colorado Boulder, where he played as a wide receiver and punt returner on the Buffaloes football team. In 2003, Bloom set a team record for most combined return yards in a single game, with 250.

Skiing Career

As a youth, Bloom made his skiing home in Keystone, Colorado. At the age of 15, he made the United States Ski Team, making him the youngest-ever male freestyle skier to do so. In 2001-02, Bloom competed in his first FIS Freestyle Skiing World Cup, and finished first in moguls and in second place overall. He made his Winter Olympics debut in 2002 in Salt Lake City, coming in ninth place in moguls. Bloom had his breakout year the next year, when he won gold in dual moguls and silver in moguls at the 2003 FIS Freestyle World Ski Championships at Deer Valley. He went on to win the World Cup in 2005, the same year he took the bronze medal in dual moguls at the World Championships in Kuusamo, Finland. Bloom returned to the Winter Olympics in 2006 in Turin, Italy, and this time came in sixth place in moguls. He was inducted into the National Ski Hall of Fame in 2013.

NFL Career

Pivoting back to football, Bloom entered the 2006 NFL draft and was chosen in the fifth round by the Philadelphia Eagles. He practiced with the team as a punt and kick returner, but was placed on injured reserve after he injured his hamstring during training camp and consequently missed the entirety of the regular season. Bloom returned for the 2007 preseason and averaged 20.3 yards on 12 kickoff returns and 7.8 yards on 10 punt returns. However, he was released by the Eagles before the start of the regular season. At the end of the year, Bloom signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of the team's playoff game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he only ended up playing in training camp with the team, and was ultimately released in the summer of 2008.

Other Activities and Appearances

In 2003, Bloom won the 30th edition of the televised sporting event "Superstars." He defeated nine professional athletes during the competition in Jamaica, including NFL players Dexter Jackson and Will Allen. Later in the decade, Bloom served as a VJ on the cable channel MHD (Music: High Definition). In 2012, he participated on the short-lived Fox dating game show "The Choice." Bloom later began doing college football analysis on television, working for such networks as ESPN, NBC, and the Pac-12 Network. In 2020, he appeared in the HBO documentary "The Weight of Gold," about the mental health challenges faced by Olympic athletes.
