Two days after Cassie Ventura stunned a Manhattan federal courtroom by revealing she received $20 million from Sean "Diddy" Combs to settle her November 2023 civil lawsuit, the singer has dropped another bombshell: She's also expecting a $10 million payout from the hotel where Diddy violently assaulted her in 2016.
During her fourth day on the witness stand in Diddy's federal sex trafficking trial, Cassie testified that she is in the final stages of securing a $10 million settlement from the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, where surveillance footage captured Combs chasing, beating, and dragging her through a hallway by her hair.
That footage, recorded on March 5, 2016, became a centerpiece of the government's case when it was released publicly in May 2024. A full 15-minute unedited version has since been shown in court as damning visual evidence of Combs' alleged pattern of violence and control.
Cassie said she recently concluded settlement talks with the hotel and expects to receive the funds soon. The hotel had not previously been named in a civil suit, but she testified that a demand was made and an agreement reached within the last month. Security staff at the hotel—including one guard who filmed the assault footage on his personal phone—have also faced scrutiny for failing to contact law enforcement at the time.
While defense attorneys attempted to suggest Cassie is financially motivated in her testimony, she forcefully denied having any stake in the outcome of Diddy's criminal trial. "I'm here to do the right thing," she said. "I can't carry this anymore … the shame, the guilt."
A $30 Million Toll — and Counting
The hotel payout would bring Cassie's total known settlements tied to her relationship with Diddy to $30 million—a staggering sum that underscores the severity of the allegations and the lengths to which Combs and others may have gone to contain them.
On May 14, Cassie testified that her civil case against Diddy was settled within 24 hours of being filed, confirming for the first time that she received $20 million in the deal. That figure had previously been the subject of intense speculation but was never publicly disclosed until her under-oath admission.
Despite receiving the large settlement, Cassie told jurors she would give back every dollar if it meant she could erase the trauma of what she endured. "If I never had to have 'freak-offs,' I would have agency and autonomy," she said, referencing the drug-fueled sex events that prosecutors claim were central to Combs' alleged criminal enterprise. "I wouldn't have had to work so hard to get it back."
Diddy, who was arrested in September 2024, faces five federal felony counts, including racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation to engage in prostitution. If convicted, he could spend the rest of his life in prison.
As more witnesses prepare to testify and additional evidence is introduced, Cassie's voice continues to be the emotional and factual linchpin of the government's case—a former partner whose bravery has brought not only personal closure, but possibly justice for others still waiting in the shadows.
