Rob Lowe is a bit of an enigma. I bet if you asked 10 random people what movie or TV show they think of when they think of Rob Lowe, they'd give 10 different answers. My answer? Wayne's World. And Tommy Boy. Perfectly solid answers but those are 20 year old references! Rob has never stopped working and has been in countless popular movies and TV shows. Let's not forget Austin Powers, St. Elmo's Fire, The Outsiders… Or the fact that Rob appeared in 80 episodes of The West Wing between 1996 and 2006, followed by 76 episodes of Brother's & Sisters between 2006 and 2010, followed by 76 episodes of Parks and Recreation between 2010 and 2016 and then in 2016 he began starring in the CBS drama Code Black. Clearly, the guy likes to work and Hollywood likes to hire him.

As a much deserved reward for his hard work, in 2005, Rob and his longtime wife Sheryl bought 3.4 acres of land in Montecito, California and started building their dream home. When it was finished in 2009, the result was an absolutely stunning 10,000 acre home with oceanfront views, 20 rooms, a home theater, a wine cellar, a piano bar and much much more.

Today they are selling that home because both of their sons have moved away and the couple is looking for new real estate adventures.

There's not point in even trying to describe this property. Let this video speak for itself:

***Update***

On October 1, 2020 it was confirmed that Rob finally found a buyer. Purchase price? $45.5 million. According to the Wall Street Journal the buyers were private equity tycoon Jack McGinley and his wife Julie. The McGinleys also own 10-acre estate in Massachusetts which they acquired just two months before their Montecito purchase for $18.9 million.
