What is Bun B's Net Worth?
Bun B is an American rapper who has a net worth of $4 million. Bun B rose to fame in the 1990s as one-half of the Southern hip hop duo UGK, alongside Pimp C. He went on to embark on a solo career in the 21st century, beginning with his hit debut album "Trill" in 2005.
Early Life
Bun B, whose real name is Bernard Freeman, was born on March 19, 1973, in Houston, Texas. He later moved to Port Arthur.
UGK
In 1987, rappers Pimp C and Big Mitch formed the hip hop duo UGK, short for Underground Kingz. Big Mitch was friends with Bun B, and when he left the group to pursue a football career, Bun B took his place. UGK went on to release their debut studio album, "Too Hard to Swallow," on Jive Records in late 1992. Bun B became known for his rapid-fire rap style. The second studio album by UGK, "Super Tight…," was released in the summer of 1994. About two years later, UGK had their commercial breakthrough with the album "Ridin' Dirty," which reached number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and number 15 on the Billboard 200. The group had another big year in 2000 with appearances on two hit songs: Three 6 Mafia's "Sippin' on Some Syrup" and Jay-Z's "Big Pimpin'." Despite that success, however, UGK saw disappointing sales for their fourth studio album, "Dirty Money," which was released in late 2001. The following year, Pimp C was imprisoned on an aggravated gun assault charge, leaving Bun B to carry on the UGK name with several guest appearances on other artists' songs.
At the end of 2005, Pimp C was released from prison and put on parole. He reunited with Bun B, and as UGK they released their fifth studio album, "Underground Kingz," in the summer of 2007. A double album featuring guest appearances from the likes of T.I., Slim Thug, Rick Ross, and Outkast, it earned strong reviews from critics and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Moreover, the album spawned the Grammy-nominated single "International Players Anthem," featuring Outkast. "Underground Kingz" was Pimp C's final album during his lifetime, as he was found dead in his hotel room in West Hollywood in late 2007. A posthumous album, "UGK 4 Life," was released in 2009 as the duo's final studio album. Featuring guest appearances by such artists as Big Gipp, Snoop Dogg, Ronald Isley, and E-40, it peaked at number one on the Top Rap Albums chart, number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and number six on the Billboard 200.

Supported by the lead single "Draped Up," the album debuted at number six on the Billboard 200 and reached number one on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Bun B's next solo album, "II Trill," came out in 2008. Another commercial success, it debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and topped both the Top Rap Albums and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts. Bun B followed that with "Trill OG" in 2010; it peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. After releasing "Trill OG: The Epilogue" in 2013, Bun B didn't release another studio album until "Return of the Trill" in 2018.
