Early Life

Jennifer Elise Cox was born on November 29, 1969, in New York City. Cox attended a performing arts high school, and after graduation, Jennifer and her mother, Kate, moved to Los Angeles. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts, and before getting her big break in "The Brady Bunch Movie," she performed in the operas "Madam Butterfly" and "Don Giovanni" in New York City and worked at Ben & Jerry's.

Career

Cox made her onscreen acting debut as Jan Brady in the 1995 film "The Brady Bunch Movie" alongside Gary Cole and Shelley Long. The film grossed $54.1 million against a budget of $10 million to $12 million, and Jennifer's performance earned positive reviews. A review on the blog The Motion Pictures stated that she was "without a doubt the best part of the movie." Cox reprised her role in 1996's "A Very Brady Sequel," and San Francisco Chronicle critic Mick LaSalle wrote of her performance, "Like the last film, 'A Very Brady Sequel' is at its best when it concentrates on the kids. The particular comic talent of the bunch is Jennifer Elise Cox, who plays Jan, the awkward, unpopular middle sister consumed with jealousy for prissy big sister Marcia." Personal Life

Jennifer married producer and director Lee Brownstein on November 17, 2006, and she played the lead role in his 2013 film "Out West."
