What is Kristin Cavallari's Net Worth and Salary?

Kristin Cavallari is an American television personality, actress, and fashion designer who has a net worth of $30 million. From 2013 to 2020, Kristin was married to NFL player Jay Cutler. During their marriage (and his career), Jay earned over $120 million in NFL salary alone. Jay and Kristin announced that they were separating after seven years of marriage in April 2020. The specific terms of their divorce settlement have not been made public. She has claimed in various interviews that she didn't "get a penny" from Jay; he has strongly disputed that narrative. Together, they owned a slew of extremely expensive properties. After selling off their former marital home for $9 million in June 2024, Kristin paid $13 million for a 130-acre estate in Tennessee. Perhaps most importantly for her net worth, Kristin is the founder of a brand called Uncommon James, which reportedly generates $50 million a year in revenue. She has also become a very successful podcaster. Much more on all these ventures throughout this article.

Kristin Cavallari first became widely known as a teenager on the MTV reality series "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" in 2004. Her confident personality and high-profile drama with fellow cast members made her one of the breakout stars of the show. She later joined the spin-off "The Hills" in 2009, where she replaced Lauren Conrad as the central cast member and further cemented her place as a fixture in early 2000s reality television culture.

Following her reality TV fame, Cavallari leveraged her profile into a career that blended entertainment and business. She appeared on "Dancing with the Stars" and made guest appearances on scripted television shows like "Veronica Mars" and "CSI: NY," though she eventually shifted her focus more toward entrepreneurial ventures than acting. In 2017, she launched Uncommon James, a lifestyle brand specializing in jewelry, home goods, and later beauty products. The company quickly became successful, turning Cavallari into a notable business owner beyond her television roots.

Her business success was chronicled on the E! reality series "Very Cavallari," which ran from 2018 to 2020 and showcased her life as a CEO, wife, and mother. Furthermore, Cavallari is the New York Times best-selling author of two books: the cookbook "True Roots" and "Balancing in Heels: My Journey to Health, Happiness, and Making it all Work."

Early Life

Kristin Elizabeth Cavallari was born on January 5, 1987, in Denver, Colorado. She is one of two children born to Judith Eifrig and Dennis Cavallari. After her parents divorced, she moved with her mother to Barrington, Illinois, which is a suburb of Chicago. However, her acting up and getting in trouble as a young teen prompted her mother to send her to live with her father in Laguna Beach, California, where she graduated from Laguna Beach High School.

Media Career

It was while at Laguna Beach High School that Cavallari was cast on the MTV reality show "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County." She was in her junior year of high school when the first season began production. Her on-and-off-again relationship with senior Stephen Colletti resulted in a love triangle with her fellow cast member Lauren Conrad. It became one of the central plot lines of the season. After "Laguna Beach," Cavallari moved to Los Angeles and starred on the UPN reality series "Get This Party Started" (February 2006), which only aired for two episodes before getting canceled. She continued to work in numerous guest and supporting roles for series such as "Veronica Mars," "CSI: NY," "Cane," and "Adventures in Hollywood." She also had a supporting role alongside Amy Poehler in the straight-to-DVD film "Spring Breakdown" (2009). She continued to grow her acting career with starring roles in the independent films "Green Flash" (2008), "Wild Cherry" (2009), and the straight-to-DVD Film "National Lampoon's Van Wilder: Freshman Year" (2009), which received mixed to negative reviews.

She confirmed that she would be joining the cast of "Laguna Beach" spin-off series "The Hills" in May 2009, making her first appearance on the show during the fifth season's midseason finale. During her appearance, which took place at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's wedding, she caught the bouquet. For the second half of the season and the sixth (and final) season, Cavallari replaced former main cast member and narrator Lauren Conrad.

She appeared on the 13th season of the hit show "Dancing with the Stars" in 2011, partnering with two-time champion Mark Ballas. However, she was third to be eliminated from the show. Cavallari then made her first venture into show hosting, commenting on her first Oscars with the E! team in March 2012. She went on to host the E! show "The Fabulist" beginning in 2014, which is a half-hour fashion and lifestyle trends show, along with Orly Shani from "Fashion Star." Her own reality show, "Very Cavallari," premiered on July 8, 2018, on E! and is set in Nashville, Tennessee. As of March 2020, the show has had three seasons, including a holiday special, "A Very Merry Cavallari," which premiered on December 15, 2019.

Uncommon James

Cavallari founded the jewelry brand Uncommon James in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2017. It not only sells jewelry, but has a home goods line as well. In July 2019, the company was reported to be generating in $20 million in revenue and had ninety employees. In 2025, Kristin's ex-husband, Jay Cutler, claimed on a podcast that by this point Uncommon James was generating $50 million in annual gross revenue.

The launch of her flagship store was the main focus of the first season of "Very Cavallari," and the running of her business has continued to be featured in the series, including a few Uncommon James employees. Additionally, Cavallari has a children's clothing line, Little James.

Podcast Empire

Kristin is the host of a highly successful iHeartRadio podcast, "Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari," which launched in 2023. The podcast became a massive hit and spawned a live tour across the country in 2024 and 2025, where she discusses dating, pop culture, and behind-the-scenes reality TV secrets.

Personal Life

In June 2013, Cavallari married Jay Cutler, who was then the quarterback of the Chicago Bears. Together, they have three children: two sons and a daughter. Cutler appeared with Cavallari on her reality show "Very Cavallari," which ran from 2018 to 2020. In April 2020, Jay and Kristin announced they were divorcing after being together for a decade.

Kristin's brother, Michael Cavallari, was found dead in December 2015 and was determined to have passed away from hypothermia following a car crash.

Jay Cutler Divorce Settlement

Kristin Cavallari and Jay Cutler finalized their divorce in 2022 after seven years of marriage, with both parties agreeing to a true 50/50 custody arrangement for their three children. Under the terms, they were named joint primary residential parents, splitting time evenly at 182.5 days per year.

While the custody agreement was straightforward, the financial terms of the divorce have remained far more opaque. The settlement details are sealed in a 67-page decree, but the issue became a public point of contention in 2025 when both Cavallari and Cutler offered sharply conflicting accounts.

During her series "Honestly Cavallari: The Headline Tour," Cavallari claimed that she "didn't get any money" in the divorce and "never got a penny." She also emphasized that Cutler did not finance her company, Uncommon James, which has grown into a significant business generating tens of millions in annual revenue.

Cutler strongly disputed those claims on his podcast "Take It Outside," calling her statements "completely false" and "reckless." He pointed out that Uncommon James was launched during their marriage, making it a marital asset under Tennessee law, and noted that courts do not typically allow one spouse to retain 100% of assets accumulated during a marriage.

Although Cutler declined to disclose specific figures, he stated that Cavallari's payout was "definitely not zero," adding that she received enough to live comfortably long-term.

As a result, while the custody arrangement is clear, the financial outcome remains undisclosed, leaving the public with two competing narratives about what Cavallari ultimately received from a marriage that coincided with more than $120 million in NFL career earnings.

Real Estate

In 2014, Kristin and Jay paid $4.25 million for an 11,000-square-foot mansion in Lake Forest, Illinois. They sold this home in 2017 for $3.6 million, taking a nearly $600,000 loss.

In 2012, they paid $5.3 million for a 20,000-square-foot mansion set on 8.6 acres in Nashville, Tennessee. They initially listed this home for sale in June 2019 for $7.9 million. They lowered the price to $5.75 million and then to $4.95 million in May 2020.

In 2018, they paid $4.3 million for a 35-acre property in Franklin, Tennessee, roughly 40 minutes outside of Nashville. The property features a 10,000-square-foot mansion with eight bedrooms and eight baths in the upscale neighborhood of Leiper's Fork.

In June 2020, Kristin paid $3.05 million for a 30-acre property featuring a 7,000-square-foot home, also in Franklin. She listed this property for sale in June 2024 for $11 million. She ultimately accepted $7.75 million in May 2025. Here is a video tour:

In June 2024, the same month she listed her previous Tennessee property, Kristin paid $13 million for a 130-acre property in Thompson's Station, Tennessee. The property features a 4,000-square-foot main house that was built in 2023.
