Ross met Donald Trump in the 1970s when he was a lawyer at a firm that Trump was negotiating a deal with. The two became friends, and Ross represented Trump in real estate deals in the 1980s and 1990s. Trump offered Ross a job in 1996 when he became bored with his legal practice. George has taught classes in negotiation and real estate transactions at New York University, and he has written the books "Trump Strategies for Real Estate: Billionaire Lessons for the Small Investor" (2005) and "Trump-Style Negotiation: Powerful Strategies and Tactics for Mastering Every Deal" (2006).
Early Life
George Ross was born on January 6, 1928, in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in a Jewish household in the Bronx, and when he was 16 years old, his father passed away on Father's Day. After graduating from Stuyvesant High School in Manhattan, George spent a year in the U.S. Army as a cryptanalyst. Ross then attended Brooklyn College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He later studied at Brooklyn Law School, earning a Juris Doctor in 1953.

Career
In 1953, Ross was admitted to the New York State Bar Association. After passing the bar exam, he was hired to work in the litigation department of Dreyer & Traub. In 1954, George began working at Goldman-DiLorenzo as in-house counsel. From 2000 to 2005, he was a member of TD Trump Deutschland's supervisory council that planned to build or purchase a Trump Tower in Germany. Ross served as an advisor on Trump's NBC reality series "The Apprentice," and he has also appeared on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "The View," "The Tony Danza Show," and "The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch." George has also taught courses in real estate transactions and negotiation at New York University. According to a 2004 article in Long Island Business News, "Over a career spanning more than 50 years, the longtime resident of Hewlett Harbor has assisted with the acquisition and development of hundreds of structures, including the GM building, the Olympic Tower and the St. Regis Hotel. He was also a member of the board of governors of the former Mid-Island Hospital in Bethpage."
In 2005, George published his first book, "Trump Strategies for Real Estate: Billionaire Lessons for the Small Investor." The book was co-written with Andrew James McLean, and it "offers unbeatable insider advice for every serious real estate investor―beginners and old pros alike." The following year, Ross released the book "Trump-Style Negotiation: Powerful Strategies and Tactics for Mastering Every Deal," which is described as "the ultimate guide for anyone who wants to negotiate like a proven winner."
Personal Life
George and his wife, Billie, have two children, Stephanie and Nanci. Ross enjoys playing golf and tennis.
