What is Nicole Appleton's Net Worth?

Nicole Appleton is a Canadian singer and television personality who has a net worth of $7 million. Nicole Appleton is best known for being a member of the British-Canadian girl group All Saints, which achieved major commercial success amid the wave of British girl groups in the 1990s. The group had nine top 10 singles, five #1 singles, two multi-platinum selling albums, two gold albums, and sold more than 12 million records worldwide. The group released three albums and won two BRIT Awards, two MTV Europe Music Awards, and an Ivor Novello Award.

In 2002, following the first breakup of the group, Appleton formed an eponymous musical duo with her sister Natalie, who was also a member of All Saints.

Nicole was at one point engaged to Robbie Williams. She was married to Liam Gallagher from 2008 to 2014.

Early Life

Nicole Appleton was born on December 7, 1974, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada as the youngest of four daughters of Jewish parents Mary and Kenneth. Her sisters are Lori, Lee, and Natalie. As a youth, Appleton lived in Toronto, New York City, and London.

All Saints

In 1996, Appleton and her sister Natalie Appleton joined the girl group All Saints, which had been formed by Melanie Blatt and Shaznay Lewis in 1993. Signed to London Records, they released their debut single, "I Know Where It's At," in the summer of 1997. The song reached number four on the UK Singles Chart. All Saints released their second single, "Never Ever," in November; it became the group's signature song, charting in the top five in numerous countries. These two singles were featured on the eponymous debut album by All Saints, which spawned further hit singles "Under the Bridge" and "Lady Marmalade," "Bootie Call," and "War of Nerves."

At the dawn of the new millennium, All Saints released the single "Pure Shores," which was written for Danny Boyle's film "The Beach." Another big hit, it became the group's fourth number-one single in the UK. All Saints followed that with another number-one single later in the year, "Black Coffee." Both singles were included on the group's second studio album, "Saints & Sinners," which debuted at number one in the UK. The album's third single, "All Hooked Up," was a top-ten hit upon its release in early 2001. Not long after that, All Saints broke up amid tensions within the group.

In early 2006, All Saints got back together and signed with Parlophone Records. Later in the year, the group released the single "Rock Steady," which peaked at number three in the UK. It was the lead single from the group's third studio album, "Studio 1," which came out in November. The album turned out to be a commercial disappointment, causing All Saints to be dropped by Parlophone. After dissolving for a second time, in 2009, the group reunited in 2014 to support the Backstreet Boys on their tour of the UK and Ireland. All Saints went on to record their fourth studio album, "Red Flag," which came out in 2016. They followed that in 2018 with their fifth studio album, "Testament."

Appleton

In 2002, after the first breakup of All Saints, Nicole Appleton and her sister Natalie formed the musical duo Appleton. Signed to Polydor Records, they released their debut single, "Fantasy," in September. The song reached number two in the UK. Appleton's next single, "Don't Worry," peaked at number five upon its release in early 2003. These were the first two singles from the duo's debut and only studio album, "Everything's Eventual"; a third single, "Everything Eventually," came out in the summer of 2003. The name of the album comes from Stephen King's short story collection of the same name. Although the album and its singles did relatively well on the UK charts, Polydor found the sales inadequate and eventually dropped Appleton.

Television Career

Between 2007 and 2010, Appleton hosted some episodes of the British music interview show "The Hot Desk" with fellow All Saints member Melanie Blatt. After that, in 2011, she hosted the short-lived Canadian reality music competition show "Cover Me Canada." In 2013, Appleton served as a guest mentor on the music competition show "The X Factor" in Britain, and in 2015 she was a guest mentor on the New Zealand version of the show. Later, in both 2019 and 2023, she appeared on the British reality series "Gogglebox."

Other Work

In other work, Appleton co-starred in the 2000 period crime film "Honest" with her fellow All Saints members. A couple of years later, she and her sister Natalie published the memoir "Together."

Personal Life

In the late 1990s, Appleton was engaged to English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams, whom she had met on the show "Top of the Pops." She got pregnant by Williams, but terminated the pregnancy under pressure from her record label. The pair eventually broke up in early 1999. In 2000, Appleton began dating English singer-songwriter Liam Gallagher of Oasis. The couple had a son, Gene, in 2001, and married in early 2008. Appleton and Gallagher divorced in 2014 after it was revealed that Gallagher was expecting a child with another woman. Later, Appleton started dating Stephen Haines, with whom she had a daughter named Skipper in 2020. The pair married the following year.

Divorce Settlement

During their divorce proceedings, Liam revealed that at that point, his net worth was "just" $15 million. He was therefore ordered to pay Nicole 50% of his assets. It is estimated that the estranged spouses spent more than $1.1 million on legal fees alone.
