Katherine LaNasa was born on December 1, 1966, in New Orleans, Louisiana, and was raised in Baton Rouge. She began dancing at the age of 12, and when she was 14, she was admitted to the North Carolina School of the Arts. LaNasa later did an apprenticeship with the Milwaukee Ballet and danced with the Salt Lake City company Ballet West.

In the 1990s, LaNasa had guest roles on a number of shows, including "Seinfeld," "The Marshal," "3rd Rock from the Sun," "The Big Easy," "Sliders," "Touched by an Angel," "Almost Perfect," and "The Practice." LaNasa made her film debut with a bit part in Dennis Hopper's 1990 romantic thriller "Catchfire." Two years later, she appeared as a dancer in the comedy "Brain Donors." In the second half of the 1990s, LaNasa had roles in "The Destiny of Marty Fine," "The Disappearance of Kevin Johnson," and Steven Soderbergh's "Schizopolis." She was less prolific on the big screen in the '00s, with her handful of credits including the 2004 remake of "Alfie" and the 2008 soldier dramedy "The Lucky Ones." Kicking off the 2010s, LaNasa appeared in the large ensemble cast of Garry Marshall's romantic comedy "Valentine's Day." She next had roles in the 2012 films "Jayne Mansfield's Car" and "The Campaign." LaNasa was subsequently in the thriller "The Frozen Ground" and the crime dramedy "Buttwhistle." In 2015, she appeared in the Christian golf film "The Squeeze," and in 2016 she was in the drama "Love is All You Need?," based on the short film of the same name.

Personal Life

LaNasa married her first husband, actor and filmmaker Dennis Hopper, in 1989. He was 31 years her senior. The couple had a son together before divorcing in 1992. LaNasa went on to marry actor French Stewart in 1998; they divorced in late 2009. She wed her third husband, actor Grant Show, in 2012. They have a daughter named Eloise.

Real Estate

In 2016, Katherine and Grant bought a home in Marina Del Rey, which they proceeded to tear down. They built a 2,700-square-foot home on the lot before selling the property in May 2019 for $2.4 million.
