Rudy Ramos aka Rudy The Flash Tribute
Tejano Mania 2012. This is a tribute to a DJ from Houston's 106.5 & 107.9 FM KQQK who I met in 1992 @ Finger's Furniture in Pasadena when he just arrived from Kingsville,Tx. Rudy became a friend & no matter the location or club he hollared, what's up to "El Cip" on the mic. 2 years ago I was happy to friend Rudy on FB. He told me about his career taking him to NYC then back to Corpus Christi. We fb messaged back & forth for a couple months about this year's 2012 Tejano Mania in Houston. I did not get to talk to Rudy until after bringing Jay Perez on towards the end of the night. No matter that he had brought on bands all day in the hot sun he still made it a point to stop & catch up with an old fan & friend. We took a picture & recapped how we met @ Finger's Furniture Pasadena when he had just arrived to Houston. He was so impressed that I remembered some of his KQQK spots that he did like how Mexicans celebrate Mother's Day, "A MA vamos a Church's Chicken." The Lord works in mysterious ways & this was good therapy that I got to say goodbye & how he inspired me to become a mobile DJ. Enjoy friends.
