Made-for-TV biopic about the early life of Beatle legend John Lennon. It traces Lennon's life story from the year 1957 in Liverpool, England up to the year 1964, where the Beatles get ready for their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show. The film begins in Liverpool, England in the year 1957 and focuses on John Lennon's beginnings, such as forming The Quarrymen (later to be known as The Beatles), meeting Paul McCartney who joins The Quarrymen, as well as dealing with the death of his mother in a car crash. Soon The Quarrymen become The Beatles, and they attract the attention of Brian Epstein who eventually becomes their manager. Soon, Stuart Sutcliffe dies of a brain hemorrhage and drummer Pete Best is replaced by Ringo Starr, another drummer. As the 1960's continue, The Beatles become famous throught the United States and the United Kingdom, and John marries Cynthia Powell and together they have a son Julian Lennon, which John names after his mother with a male form to it. The movie ends in 1964, just before The Beatles get ready to perform for the first time on The Ed Sullivan Show.
