Novel Connection

"Novel Connection" is the ninth episode in the seventh season of Magnum, P.I. and is the first part of the Magnum, P.I./Murder, She Wrote crossover, which concludes in the Murder, She Wrote episode "Magnum on Ice". This episode first aired November 19 1986 on CBS and special guest stars Angela Lansbury as Jessica Fletcher. At the end of the original version of this episode the story is left open to be concluded in "Magnum on Ice" but a new ending was filmed for this portion of the episode to make it into a single, stand alone episode for syndication. nnJonathan Higgins is driving visiting Pamela Bates -- an old editor friend of Robin Master's -- along with her friend, and her secretary, to the Estate, when someone tries to run them off the road and over a cliff. But it seems that it's not a case for Thomas Magnum, when Pamela insists on waiting for her own mainland investigator friend to arrive and look into it - much to the annoyance of Thomas, who is supposed to be busy entering...
