Selena Net Worth: Selena was an American singer-songwriter who had a net worth of $10 million. Born Selena Quintanilla (April 16, 1971 – March 31, 1995) in Lake Jackson, Texas, she was the sexy and charismatic 'Queen of Tejano music' until her premature death at the age of 23. Mononymously known as Selena, she first started to perform as a 10-year-old girl mainly fronting the family band, Selena y Los Dinos. It was the anonymously titled album "Selena y Los Dinos" that actually put the family on the map, whereas their 1992 effort "Entre A Mi Mundo" went gold. At the time, Selena took the music stages in Mexico and Latin America by storm, whereas she was still unknown throughout the States. Also dubbed "the Mexican Madonna", she continued to spread her popularity with her subsequent albums, the Grammy-winning "Selena Live!" (1993) and the hit "Amor Prohibido" (Forbidden Love, 1994). In 1995, the rising singer started recording her first English-language album, "Dreaming of You", which was expected to become a mainstream success. Unfortunately, Selena was killed on March 31st of that year by Yolanda Saldivar, the founder of the Selena fan club and manager of her clothing boutiques. In two weeks time from her tragic death, George W. Bush, governor of Texas at the time, declared her birthday "Selena Day" in Texas. Selena's greatest hits album was released posthumously in 2002, and her story was put on the big screen in a 1997 film titled Selena, in which the singer was portrayed by Jennifer Lopez.
