He is best known for being the first artist signed to Katy Perry's Metamorphosis Music label. He actually released his first album, titled "Aliens & Rainbows" in April 2008. A single from that album "Hollywood's Not America", was used as the exit song on the seventh season of American Idol. He released his first self-titled EP under Metamorphosis in June 2014.
Ferras parents separated when he was very young. One day his father told him they were going to Disneyland. They were actually flying to the father's home country of Jordan. After some time and legal maneuvering, his mother successfully was able to bring him back to the United States where they settled in Southern California. He met Katy Perry for the first time in 2007.
