A singer-songwriter, musician, and actor, Billy Idol rose to musical prominence in the 80s, with his first taste of fame with the punk rock band Generation X, and then as a solo artist. Idol moved to New York City in 1981, and became a solo artist working with ex-Kiss manager, Bill Aucoin. He was considered a part of the MTV defined "Second British Invasion." Billy Idol continues to tour with guitarist Steve Stevens as he has for most of his career. He also has appeared in several movies including The Wedding Singer, Heavy Metal 2000 and The Doors.
