What Is Kelly Ripa's Net Worth and Salary?

Kelly Ripa is an American actress and daytime television host who has a net worth of $120 million. Her salary for hosting "Live" is $22 million per year.

Kelly Ripa first gained national recognition in the 1990s as Hayley Vaughan on the ABC daytime soap opera "All My Children," a role she played from 1990 to 2002 and which earned her multiple Daytime Emmy nominations. Her success in daytime drama laid the foundation for a seamless transition into hosting.

In 2001, Ripa was chosen to replace Kathie Lee Gifford as co-host of "Live! with Regis and Kelly" alongside Regis Philbin. Her chemistry with Philbin revitalized the show and introduced her to a broader audience. After Philbin's retirement in 2011, the program cycled through several co-hosts before settling into "Live! with Kelly and Michael" alongside Michael Strahan, and later "Live! with Kelly and Ryan" with Ryan Seacrest. In 2023, the show rebranded again as "Live with Kelly and Mark," pairing her with her husband, actor Mark Consuelos.

Over more than two decades on "Live," Ripa became one of the most durable and recognizable figures in morning television. Known for her quick wit, candid personality, and strong connection with viewers, she helped maintain the show's ratings stability through multiple format changes. Beyond hosting, Ripa co-founded the production company Milojo with Consuelos, developing scripted and unscripted projects for television.

Her longevity in both daytime drama and syndicated talk has made her one of the most consistent and highest-paid personalities in daytime television.

Early Life

Kelly Maria Ripa was born on October 2, 1970, in Berlin, New Jersey. She is the daughter of Joseph Ripa, who served as the Democratic County Clerk for Camden County, and Esther Ripa, a homemaker. She and her sister Linda, who later became a children's book author, were raised in a Roman Catholic household. Kelly is the first member of her family to pursue a career in acting.

From a young age, Ripa showed strong artistic inclinations. She studied ballet, played piano, and participated in school productions. While attending Eastern Regional High School, she was encouraged by a drama teacher to consider acting professionally after demonstrating natural stage presence and comedic timing. She began appearing in local theater productions before enrolling at Camden County College. However, determined to pursue an entertainment career full time, she left college and moved to New York City to chase acting opportunities.

Early Television Career

Ripa's first significant television exposure came in 1986 when she was cast as a regular dancer on the syndicated music program "Dancin' On Air." The role led to a similar stint on "Dance Party USA," giving her early on-camera experience and industry exposure.

Her breakthrough arrived in 1990 when she was cast as Hayley Vaughan on the ABC daytime soap opera "All My Children." Originally introduced as a rebellious party girl, the character evolved into one of the show's most central figures. Ripa remained on the series for more than a decade, from 1990 to 2002, earning Daytime Emmy nominations and building a loyal fan base. During her time on the show, she met actor Mark Consuelos, who played her on-screen love interest Mateo Santos. The two married in 1996 and went on to become one of television's most enduring couples.

After leaving "All My Children," Ripa transitioned into primetime with the ABC sitcom "Hope and Faith," which aired from 2003 to 2006. The show allowed her to showcase her comedic skills in a leading role and further expanded her profile beyond daytime television.

"Live" and Daytime Dominance

In February 2001, Ripa was selected to replace Kathie Lee Gifford as co-host of "Live! with Regis and Kelly" alongside Regis Philbin. The pairing proved highly successful, with Ripa's candid personality and quick wit complementing Philbin's veteran hosting style. The show's conversational format, often centered on personal anecdotes and family life, resonated with viewers and helped maintain strong ratings, averaging millions of viewers per day.

When Philbin retired in 2011, Ripa became the central figure of the franchise. During a transitional period known as "Live! with Kelly," she worked with a rotating roster of guest co-hosts before former NFL star Michael Strahan was named permanent co-host in 2012. The show was rebranded as "Live with Kelly and Michael" and continued its ratings success.

Strahan's departure in 2016 prompted another transition, and in 2017 Ryan Seacrest joined the program, leading to "Live with Kelly and Ryan." After Seacrest stepped down in 2023, Ripa's husband, Mark Consuelos, became her co-host, and the show was renamed "Live with Kelly and Mark." The pairing marked a full-circle moment, blending her personal and professional lives on air.

Over more than two decades, Ripa has anchored the franchise through multiple format changes and co-host transitions, making her one of the longest-serving personalities in syndicated daytime television.

Production Work and Recent Projects

Beyond hosting, Ripa co-founded Milojo Productions with Mark Consuelos. The company develops scripted and unscripted television projects, including documentaries and true-crime series. Through Milojo, Ripa expanded her influence behind the scenes, moving into executive production and content development.

She has also returned periodically to her roots in daytime drama. Plans have been announced for her to reprise the role of Hayley Vaughan in the "All My Children" spinoff "Pine Valley," revisiting the character that launched her career.

Kelly Ripa's longevity in both acting and hosting has made her one of the most durable and recognizable figures in American daytime television, with a career that spans soap operas, sitcoms, and one of the most successful syndicated talk shows in history.

Although she is best known for her daytime TV work, she also has a few film credits to her name, including 1996's acclaimed Marvin's Room, in which she acted alongside Meryl Streep and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Accolades

Ripa won five "Soap Opera Digest" Awards and earned three Daytime Emmy nominations for her work on "All My Children." Kelly won a Daytime Emmy for "Outstanding Talk Show Host" with co-host Regis Philbin in 2001, 2011, 2012, 2015, and 2016. The show won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show in its 24th year. Kelly has been nominated for several People's Choice Awards for her work on the show. She was given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2015. They have three children together: Michael Joseph (b. 1997), Lola Grace (b. 2001), and Joaquin Antonio (b. 2003). On the day of Ripa's first "Live! Kelly Ripa Real Estate

Kelly and Mark own several homes around the country.

Kelly and Mark's first substantial NYC condo was a loft spanning 5,625 square feet and featuring three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The unit contained a massive eat-in kitchen with multiple refrigerators, a separate family wing with a pair of bedrooms and a playroom, a library/den, an office, and a personal gym.  The family enjoyed that location so much that when they outgrew the $2.8 million loft, they moved upstairs to the 9,865 square foot penthouse suite that had recently been vacated by Nicole Kidman. They paid $9 million in 2005 for Kidman's 6,700-square-foot property. They eventually sold the first condo for around $6.8 million, a $3 million profit. They sold the Kidman property in 2014 for $24.5 million.

Today, their primary residence is a five-bedroom NYC townhouse that is worth at least $30 million. The five-story home has an elevator that takes people up to a private rooftop patio and garden. For vacations, they have a ski home in Telluride, Colorado, and a beach home in the Hamptons. The couple bought their Hamptons home for $2.35 million in 2004. It's likely that this home is worth $10-15 million today. Their combined real estate portfolio is worth at least $45 million.
