Born in New York, Cody Connelly was given his first bike, an XR-50, when he was five years old. His early motorcycle maintenance lessons were with his father. During high school at Valley Central High School, he also attended the American Motorcycle Institute. He was offered his first job in 2001, working for Orange County Choppers. He worked for Orange County Choppers until 2007, when he moved to V-Force Customs, where he currently works with Vincent DiMartino. During his time with Orange County Choppers, he appeared on the reality show surrounding the shop, called, "American Chopper". He subsequently sued the shop for continuing to use his likeness on merchandise and in advertising after he'd begun working for V-Force Customs. In 2010, he also began working for PJD, the custom shop opened by Paulie Jr.
