Winnie Johnson-Marquart is the great-great granddaughter of Samuel Curtis Johnson, the founder of S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. She is the daughter of Samuel Curtis Johnson Jr. and Imogene Powers Johnson. The Johnson family at large is one of the wealthiest families in America.

She is the richest person in Virginia Beach and one of the three richest people in Virginia. She is the current president of the Johnson Family Foundation, a charitable organization. She keeps a very low profile in comparison to other family members.

Family

Winnie's parents, Samuel and Imogene, had four children, including Winnie. Winnie's brother Herbert Fisk Johnson is the Chairman & CEO of the family business, S.C. Johnson. Her brother Samuel Curtis "Curt" Johnson III is a sex offender who was convicted in March 2011 of sexually assaulting his step-daughter over a period of three years starting when she was 12. Her sister Helen has served variously as the CEO of Johnson Outdoors and Johnson Financial.

Winnie Johnson is the only member of the core family that does not live year-round in Racine, Wisconsin. Winnie's primary home is an absolutely incredible 13,000 square-foot waterfront mansion in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She custom built the home, which sits on an enormous private peninsula in 1987.

In 2012 Winnie paid $7.4 for a 5-acre mountain-top property in Malibu, California.

Personal Life

Winnie is married to Michael Marquart. They have four children. Michael is notable as a musician. In 1989 he played drums for A Flock of Seagulls. He continues to produce music and tour. His 2019 album "The Savior" was nominated for a Grammy for Best Immersive Audio Album.

For much of the 1990s and 2000s, Michael and Winnie operated a recording studio in Virginia Beach called "Windmark Recording" (Windmark is a portmanteau of their first names). Windmark was used by Virginia Beach natives Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams when they began recording as The Neptunes.
