Vadim Novinsky is a Ukrainian businessman who has a net worth of $1.7 billion. Along with his partner and fellow billionaire Andrei Klyamko, Vadim Novinsky founded the Ukraine's financial and industrial group Smart Holding. Ever since 2006, he has been serving as the president of the group, as well as the head of the supervisory board of ZAO Smart Holding. Through the group, he holds a 24% stake in billionaire Rinat Akhmetov's iron ore producer Metinvest, while his other interests include stakes in oil and gas company Regal Petroleum and supermarket chain Amstor. Novinsky's career beginnings date back to the mid-1990s, when he started Lukoil North West, and then bought Ukrainian metallurgy companies, uniting them in 2006 into Smart Holding Group.

One year later, he traded them for the Metinvest stake. A Russian native who got his Ukrainian citizenship this year, Novinsky lives and works in Kiev and St. Petersburg. Also, he is married with three children.
