Mark Coombs is a British businessman who has a net worth of $2.3 billion. Mark Coombs made his way up the billionaire circles after he founded fund management firm Ashmore Group, which makes investments in bonds, equities and currencies in various emerging economies like in Latin America and Asia and among others. A Cambridge law graduate, Coombs embarked on his career at Australia & New Zealand Banking Group. In 1998, he started to serve as Ashmore's CEO and he was the one to lead a buyout in 1999, after which he took the firm public in 2006, raising $2 billion in the process.

In 2011, he made some more profits taking advantage of cheaper equities and thus, he bought money manager Emerging Market Management for only $246 million. Today, Coombs more than doubled the company's assets under management that reached $71 billion. Even though a billionaire, Mr. Coombs is said to live a modest life, residing in a 3-bedroom house in Wimbledon, near London.
