What is Guilherme Paulus' Net Worth?

Guilherme Paulus is a Brazilian businessman who has a net worth of $1.1 billion. Mr. Paulus joins billionaire ranks thanks to the boom in Brazil's tourism sector. He was only 24 years old, when he co-founded tour operator CVC Brasil Operadora e Agencia de Viagens S.A. in 1972. Now, Guilherme runs the business all by himself as his partner was a Brazilian politician who left the venture just four years after its formation.

Under his leadership, CVC has turned into the largest tour operator in Latin America. Late in 2009, a global private equity firm Carlyle group bought a 63.6% stake in the company for $420 million. Aside from CVC, Paulus set up GJP Hotels and Resorts, which oversees more than 15 hotels and resorts in Brazil, as well as is bidding to build and maintain hotels near airports in Brazil. All because there is expected a great number of foreigners to visit the country in the wake of the 2014 World Soccer Cup and 2016 Summer Olympics.
