While she was still studying at medical school, she met her ex-husband Edison de Godoy Bueno, the founder of Amil, a Brazil's healthcare organization. A medical doctor of Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro who also holds a doctorate of the University of Texas at Austin, Dulce helped Edison a lot with the organization that started with a few medical clinics.
