What is George Bodenheimer's Net Worth?

George Bodenheimer is an American businessman and media personality who has a net worth of $25 million dollars. Born in 1958, George Bodenheimer graduated from Denison University and got his start with sports empire ESPN as a clerk in the mailroom just 16 months after the network's launch. He eventually worked his way up from sales, marketing, and research to become president of ESPN Inc. and ABC's sports division. Bodenheimer was named ESPN's president in late 1998 and ABC Sports' president about five years later. He is credited with launching various ESPN satellite networks and programming, including ESPNHD, ESPN Plus, ESPN PPV, ESPN3, ESPNU, and ESPN Deportes, among others.

Under Bodenheimer, ESPN and ESPN2 cracked almost 100 million households. He negotiated several long-term deals for the network, including contracts with Monday Night Football and the NFL, the NBA, MLB, and several college conferences such as the SEC and later the BCS. In 2008, he landed on the "Sports Business Journal" list of the 50 most influence people of 2008, claiming the top spot. Bodenheimer became ESPN's executive chairman in early 2012, once John Skipper replaced him as president. He left the company after 33 years in May 2014 and plans to focus his time on work with The V Foundation, which works to find a cure for cancer in honor of college basketball coach Jim Valvano.
