As a teenager he was a member of the Bones Brigade professional skateboarding team. He started the skateboarding company Real. Guerrero started the skate rock band Free Beer and the experimental group Jet Black Crayon but has been more successful as a solo artist. His debut album Loose Grooves & Bastard Blues was released in 1998. His third studio album Soul Food Taqueria was released in 2003 and was ranked #2 on the Rolling Stone magazine's Best of 2003 list. Guerrero has also released the albums A Little Bit Of Somethin', From The Soil To The Soul, Return of the Bastard, Lifeboats & Follies, No Man's Land, and Living Dirt. He won the Legend award at the 2013 15th Annual Transworld SKATEboarding Awards.
