What is Alexis DeJoria's Net Worth?

Alexis Dejoria is an American drag racer who has a net worth of $100 million. Alexis Dejoria is the daughter of John Paul Dejoria. John Paul is the billionaire founder of the tequila company Patron, and Paul Mitchell Hair Care Products. When she was 16 years old, her father took her out in a Vector V12, a limited-edition sports car by Northrup-Grumman, and she quickly developed a  love for speed. This passion eventually turned Dejoria into one of the top female drag racers in the country, and a ranked National Hot Rod Association funny car driver; she was also the second woman to win a national event in the top alcohol division. She now competes in the faster nitro division and is one of a handful of women who have competed in drag racing since Shirley Muldowney, who started street racing in the late 50s.

Dejoria She began drag racing in 2005 at the amateur level in a 1963 Corvette Roadster in the NHRA Super Gas category, and went on to win the Sportsman Nationals in Fontana, California, less than a year after her debut. By 2009, she was racing cars with 3,000 horsepower and had gone on to build her own team called Stealth Motorsports. While racing for Stealth in 2010, Alexis made racing history by competing in the first ever 'woman vs woman' race in her class.

In 2013, Alexis married American television personality Jesse James, who is the owner of West Coast Choppers and the former husband of actress Sandra Bullock. They married on March 24, 2013 and incorporated a blended family that includes her daughter, Isabella, from a previous marriage and Jesse James' children that are also from previous relationships. Their marriage ended in 2020.

Early Life

DeJoria was born on September 24, 1977 in Venice Beach, California. She was born to parents John Paul DeJoria and Jamie Briggs. Her father is the co-founder of the Paul Mitchell line of hair products, as well as The Patron Spirits Company. Her parents split up during DeJoria's childhood and her father remarried Eloise Broady, a former Playboy playmate and model. She grew up with her siblings, all of whom share the same father, John Anthony DeJario, Michael DeJario, Justin DeJario, John Paul DeJario II, and Michaeline DeJario. She also has a half-sister from her mother's side named Chloe Briggs. As a child, she enjoyed skateboarding and other more extreme sports, including race car driving. She first tried drag racing when she was 16 years old after a friend took her to the Pomona Drag Strip in California. From that point forward, she was interested in pursuing drag racing as a career. She eventually moved to Gainesville, Florida in order to attend Frank Howley's Drag School

Career

DeJoria began her career with the NHRA in 2005. She initially competed in the Super Gas category but then moved into the Super Comp dragster category. Only eight months after her professional debut, she won the Sportsman Nationals in Fontana, California. Over the next couple of years, she raced on the West coast in the Top Alcohol Funny Car.

Motivated by her success, DeJoria decided to build her own racing team in 2009. She called the team Stealth Motorsports. At the 2011 NHRA Northwest Fall Nationals, she won her first NHRA national event in Top Alcohol Funny Car. She was only the second ever woman to win in the competition. She continued working with the Stealth Motorsports team as co-owner and operator before deciding to leave in 2011 to join Kalitta Motorsports. She joined the team as their fourth member and second funny car driver. She also transitioned at the same time to racing a nitro funny car at the 2011 Texas Fall Nationals.

She excelled in nitro racing. In 2013, she had four semi-final finishes. In 2014, she became the first woman ever to make a sub-four second pass during the NHRA Winternationals at Pomona. A few months later, she won her first race in Funny Car in Phoenix, Arizona. In March of that year, she picked up her second win at a race in Las Vegas. In May, she broke a Funny Car track record at the Atlanta Dragway race track. The performance earned her the number one qualifier position. During the summer of 2014, she broke the Brainerd International Raceway's Funny Car ET record by completing a pass in just over four seconds. She then went on to break her own record by completing the pass in just under four seconds. This pass was historical as it represented the first sub-found second Funny Car pass at the Brainerd International Raceway. She continued driving exceptionally well into the fall. In September of 2014, she won the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis.

In 2015, DeJoria continued performing at a high level. She reached the final round in Top Fuel Funny Car in the NHRA Summernationals at Englishtown. She did suffer injury in 2016 after hitting a wall at the NHRA Sonoma Nationals in July. The collision resulted in a crashed car and DeJoria sustained minor injuries and bruising. She returned to racing only five weeks later.

In 2017, she announced that she would be taking a brief break from racing in order to focus on other areas of her life. She announced the return of her hiatus from the sport in late 2019. She did return in 2020. While it took her a few months to get back into a high-performing level, sje was able to. She finished in the number one spot in the qualifying competition prior to the 20^th Thunder Valley Nationals at the Bristol Dragway. This represented DeJoria's best effort since the Charlotte-Four-Wide-Nationals in 2016.

Personal Life

DeJoria got engaged to Jesse James in 2012 and the couple married a few months later in March of 2013. James had previously been married three times – to Karla James, Janine Lindemulder, and Sandra Bullock. In 2020, after seven years of marriage, the couple announced that they would be divorcing. DeJoria cited James' infidelity as one of the reasons for the split. Before marrying James, DeJoria had a daughter, whom she named Bella, from a previous relationship. She was also a step-mother to James' children, Chandler, Sunny, and Eli.
