Tom was born on October 26, 195, in Derby, Connecticut and in 1974 he attended Boston College, where in 1984 he was inducted into the Boston College Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame. From 1974 till 1984 he was an offensive lineman for the American NFL team the Kansas City Chiefs, then for the New England Patriots also of the NFL in 1985. While Condon was still an active NFL player he earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Baltimore, and represented some of his fellow players. Later he became the president of the National Football League Players Association (NFLPA) from 1984 to 1986. In 1991 he joined the global sports and media business IMG, originally known as the International Management Group.
