Tiger Woods is perhaps the greatest athlete of all time and as a result has a personal net worth of $500 million and an annual salary of $85 million. Tiger's first big source of revenue, not surprisingly, is from winning tournaments. Since turning pro in 1996 Tiger has earned $92.8 million from 239 career PGA starts. But as with most of the great athletes like Michael Jordan and Lebron James, the real bulk of Woods' fortune comes off the green through endorsements. In his first professional year, at the tender age of 21, Tiger signed deals with Nike and Titleist worth $40 and $20 million respectively. Woods' corporate relationships have grown at an exponential rate. He has expanded his Rolodex of sponsors to include Gatorade, American Express, Asahi, General Mills (Wheaties), Golf Digest, Rolex, Gillette, Accenture, Tag Heuer, AT&T, EA Sports, NetJets, Upper Deck, TLC Laser Eye Centers and Buick. All these deals earn Tiger well over $100 million a year aside from his tournament earnings (in 2008 he earned $128 million on endorsements alone).

Gatorade has taken their relationship one step further, developing a custom branded drink for Woods called "Gatorade Tiger". The Gatorade deal is a 5 year contract worth $100 million.

Woods earns $20 million to endorse Gillette along with fellow super star athletes Roger Federer and Thierry Henry.

Tiger commands $10 million to design golf courses all over the world. He has projects under way in North Carolina, Dubai and Mexico.

Aside from the money he earns winning a tournament, Tiger is often paid personal appearance fees of up to $1.5 million just to show up!
