La Tourneuse de pages

The Page Turner (French: La Tourneuse de pages) is a 2006 French film directed by Denis Dercourt. It was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2006 Cannes Film Festival. A young girl Mélanie Prouvost, aspires to be a pianist and auditions in front of a famous pianist Ariane Fouchécourt; for a place at a conservatoire. The recital does not go well and Mélanie leaves the audition with her mother, heart broken; seemingly blaming the famous pianist, vowing never to play music again. Some years later Mélanie, having studied hard finds a work experience placement at a solicitors; perhaps coincidentally we find the family of the famous pianist she previously auditioned for. The story develops as the young lady integrates herself into the life of the family, becoming a holiday carer for the families young son who the family aspires will follow in the footsteps of the mother as a famous pianist. Befriending the aspiring pianists son, Melanie encourages him to prepare a full piano...
