DJ Khaled's 'Major Key' Dethrones Drake's 'Views' To Become The No. 1 Album In The Country

DJ Khaled is a man of many talents; DJ, record producer, record label executive, and the King of Snapchat, among other things. Despite his crazy schedule, he found the time to get some of his most talented artist friends, and put out "another one" *DJ Khaled voice* of his ever so popular compilation albums. This one, his ninth studio album entitled Major Key, features the likes of Future, Big Sean, Rick Ross, Jay Z, Nas, and Drake among countless others, and managed to dethrone the hottest album of the year thus far to take the top spot on the charts this week.

DJ Khaled's Major Key debuted at the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200, not only giving Khaled his first No. 1 album, but also dethroning Drake's Views album from the top spot, a spot that Drake has held for 12 out of the 13 weeks since its release. Khaled's feat is even more impressive considering that the album was released as an Apple Music exclusive on July 29. Major Key earned the top spot 95,000 equivalent units during its first week of release. Views had 80,000 equivalent units during the same time frame, meaning Drizzy had to settle for the No. 2 spot on the charts this week.

Drake probably isn't stressing over Khaled knocking Views out of the top spot. After all, he appears on "For Free," one of the singles off of Major Key, which is currently No. 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, and is poised to keep rising up the charts. In addition, his Summer Sixteen tour with Future is one of the summer's hottest tickets.

In celebration of his first No. 1 album, Khaled did what he knows best; tell the world about it on social media. Khaled took to Twitter, Instagram and yes, Snapchat to thank his fans for supporting the album. Congrats to DJ Khaled for his major accomplishment.
