Social workers focus on improving people's lives, helping them solve issues in their lives and cope with problems. Social workers work on problems dealing with relationships, and family and personal issues. Social workers may be involved in helping clients with life-threatening disease, social problems such as substance abuse, unemployment, inadequate housing, and clients with disabilities.
