Who Will Purchase Miramax For $500M?

Disney should put out a Craigslist ad for their Miramax sub-division:

famous movie studio, slightly used, up for grabs.  lots of oscars won and box office earned for films released many years ago.  looking for around $500 mil.  message with best offer. logo included (see below).

Who's currently in the running for the studio that made "Pulp Fiction" and "Clerks"? For awhile, Miramax's original founders – Harvey and Bob Weinstein – had paired up with other investors for a $625m bid. However, talks have apparently ceased between Disney and the Weinsteins. This is not a surprise, since a personality clash was the cause of Disney ousting the brothers in 2005.

Now Disney is talking to financier brothers Alec and Tom Gores about a possible sale. The duo is also eyeing Overture Films, which is a division of Starz.

They'll probably talk to you too, if you've got half a billion dollars lying around.
