Balthazar Getty's father J Paul Getty III died today at the age of 54. Getty III is the grandson of billionaire oil tycoon John Paul Getty I who was the richest person in the world in his day. Getty III's net worth was $2 billion when he died. When Getty III was just 16 years old he was kidnapped and held for 5 months until his family finally paid the ransom. It wasn't until after the kidnappers sent a sliced piece of his ear to an Italian newspaper did his father agree to the ransom.

Michael J Fox was honored with a lifetime achievement prize by the Golden Camera Awards this weekend.

Oscar winning director Paul Haggis in making headlines because of his 26 page expose on Scientology that appears in this month's New Yorker magazine. In the article Haggis says that his work on Walker Texas Ranger is the most financially successful project he has ever worked on. He was a consultant on the pilot episode and in return was awarded a co-creator credit on the show which ended up airing for 8 season in 150 countries.
