The character Diego Delgado in the movie Blow is closely based on Carlos Lehder. Lehder was George Jung's prison cell mate who later introduced George to Colombian kingpin Pablo Escobar. The two began flying cocaine to the US in small planes but Eventually Carlos bought his own island in the Bahamas called Norman's Cay that he used to as a distribution center for massive amounts of cocaine. He is currently in a federal prison serving a 55 year sentence.
