Rap Icon MC Lyte Launches Initiative To Empower And Enrich Businesswomen

In an effort to further her ongoing message of women's empowerment, rap pioneer MC Lyte, in conjunction with her non-profit, the Hip Hop Sisters Foundation, has just announced her new, up-and-coming women's event. As an attempt to help promote cooperation and unity among professional women, she has scheduled a series of retreats for women from all walks of life.

What is W.E.A.L.T.H.? 

It's an acronym that stands for Womanhood, Expansion, Assets, Leadership, Transformation, and Health. The W.E.A.L.T.H. Experience includes a series of seminars geared towards building a professional network of like-minded women, in order to impart the knowledge needed to achieve excellence. An event coordinated by celebrity financial coach, Lynn Richardson, her goal is to help women of color collectively achieve wealth by providing attendees with an array of tools, behavioral changes, and strategies.

Event Details

An event presented by Prudential, the seminars will feature a variety of women who have been highly successful in the business and/or entertainment fields. These women include:

Taking place at Miami's upscale, beachfront, 1 Hotel, the event will unfold over the course of 4 days, January 2-5, 2016. The itinerary includes registration, a welcome reception, 2 continental breakfasts, at least 8 seminars, and a networking session on the final day. The prices range from $700-$2,000 for a 3-night stay at 1 Hotel, as well as all seminars or simply $499 to register for the event only. There's also an option to add on your male plus ones for $150 a pop.

The Future of the W.E.A.L.T.H. Movement? 

While no specific plans have been concretely chiseled, it has been said that the goal of this movement is to reach out to women who are seeking to grow their businesses as well as their networks. Off to a fantastic and star-studded start, it'll certainly be interesting to see how well the event does, what results the attendees are able to realize, and which high-profile personalities will sign on to participate in this event in the future.
