***Update September 2nd*** Yesterday Alabama destroyed Michigan 44-14, thus Floyd Mayweather lost his entire $3 million bet… Floyd Mayweather is no stranger to making large bets, but the staggering amount of money he just put on Michigan to beat Alabama this Saturday is truly unbelievable, even for Floyd. Mayweather, a Michigan native, has reportedly placed a $3 million bet on his hometown team the Michigan Wolverines. The #8 ranked Michigan is the underdog against #2 ranked Alabama and is therefore getting a 14 point spread. That means Michigan basically starts the game with a 14 point lead for Mayweather's bet. Michigan could lose by 13 points and Floyd will still be a winner, if they lose by 14 it's a push. Keep reading for more info on Floyd's insane bet and impressive gambling history…

Floyd, who was released from prison just last week, has reportedly been seen today spreading the $3 million bet out in nine different Vegas sportsbooks. Mayweather is famous for his big bets, but this might be his biggest ever. He famously lost $1 million on last year's Super Bowl not long after winning $1 million during the AFC playoffs. His biggest known bet before today was $1.9 million he placed on a regular season Clippers game. He won that bet.

$3 million is not the biggest celebrity bet we've ever written about. After winning a $1 million bet off the 2011 Green Bay Packers Super Bowl, Rapper Birdman bet $5 million on the New England Patriots to win last year's Super Bowl matchup against the Giants. The Giants won and Birdman lost. Birdman also lost $2 million on the Miami Heat in the 2011 NBA finals and plans to bet $10 million on Mayweather if a Pacquiao matchup ever finally happens. But considering his track record, maybe Birdman should stick to rapping…

What's the most amount of money you've ever bet on sports? Will you be you rooting for or against Floyd and Michigan this Saturday? Side note, earlier today Floyd tweeted the following photo of himself sitting on a white Mercedes Gullwing, resting his foot on a white Lamborghini with the caption: "I'm bored sitting at the top alone. Can some other bosses come and play?"
