Sandra Bullock's House: America's Sweetheart Sells Her Home in the Heartland

By on June 7, 2012 in ArticlesCelebrity Homes

It has been a while since Sandra Bullock took a summer off.  Since literally bursting out of obscurity into the hearts and minds of moviegoers everywhere in the smash hit action film, "Speed", back in 1994, Ms. Bullock has been wracking up an impressive resume.  She's also won a nice little thing called an Academy Award.  While she had worked steadily for almost ten years prior to "Speed", including a lead role on a short-lived sitcom, her career improved dramatically after her breakout role.  She has since appeared in such films as "While You Were Sleeping", "A Time to Kill", "Hope Floats", "28 Days", "Miss Congeniality", "The Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood", "Crash", "The Proposal", "The Blind Side", and "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close".  In the middle of all that, she also played a recurring role on "George Lopez ", went through a truly nasty, public divorce, and adopted a son.  So, it only stands to reason that she would need to have a moment to herself.  She is not scheduled to appear in another film until 2013 currently, and she has recently begun off-loading real estate as well.  Just this week, she announced the sale of one of her homes, in Austin.

Sandra Bullock's house in Austin, Texas is currently for sale for the comparatively modest price of $2.5 million.  The 5,663 square foot, three-bedroom, two and a half-bath house also has a lovely backyard with a pool, lots of trees, a balcony, and multiple walk-in closets.  Sandra Bullock's house also contains a master bedroom complete with a fireplace.  Additionally, a jogging and hiking trail winds around the property.   The ceilings are very high, and there are massive windows in almost every room.  The Stunning views of downtown Austin, along with a surprising amount of privacy, make Sandra Bullock's house quite comfortable.  Ms. Bullock is bound for Los Angeles, so maybe she is aiming to spend some time filling up her shooting schedule again.
