Jennifer Lopez's Home: Newly Single Equals a New $18 Million Mansion

By on February 3, 2012 in ArticlesCelebrity Homes

It seems like Jennifer Lopez has been in the headlines for years.  Whether she is singing or dancing in a music video, starring in a romantic comedy, dating an A-list actor or high-profile musician, or simply hanging out with friends, she always seems to be news.  Her star has dimmed a little in recent years, with a waning musical career, and some personal ups and downs.  Most recently, she has returned to the public eye as one of the judges on "American Idol".  Her first year as a judge was marked by lots of tears and a tendency towards sweetness that made her feel a bit like Paula Abdul minus the "cat-fights" with Simon Cowell.  While some people were puzzled by her decision to judge the popular reality singing contest, many viewed as a stabilizing move for a busy artist who was now the mother of twins.  However, soon after she began working on the show, she also announced her divorce.  With that announcement, stabilization went out the window.  Like most divorces, the separation necessitated a move, and move she did.  She left her magnificent mansion in California and moved into a new home in The Hamptons.  The move "back east" puts her closer to her family and the change of scenery is probably a relief.

Valued at $18 million, the seven-bedroom, nine and a half bathroom house, also features imported limestone floors, multiple fireplaces, living rooms on two floors, a guest suite, walk-in closets, an elevator, a multi-car garage, and floor-to-ceiling windows in almost every room.  Situated on two acres of land in Water Mill, New York, Ms. Lopez purchased the palatial home in September 2011.  Hopefully, her new home will bring her better luck in 2012.
