There are many things for which a starlet wants to make headlines. Winning a major acting honor is one. Landing a high-profile role is another. Signing with the most popular agent, being seen on the arm of the right single celebrity, or receiving an invitation to an A-list party, also rank up there as good reasons to be on the front page of gossip magazines or at the top of celebrity news websites. Being singled out for bad fashion choices, however, is not such a great reason to top the headlines. Hayden Panettiere, has, unfortunately, recently joined the ranks of the latter group. The generally well-dressed and attractive actress recently made the front page when she wore what could only be described as a 'matronly' dress to a film premiere. While her fashion choice did not win her any points, her taste in homes has been much better. In 2008, at the tender age of 18, she purchased a large home in the Hollywood Hills on the heels of her success on the television show, "Heroes". The home was a bold purchase for a late-teens actress, and indicated a desire to set herself apart from the rest of the young stars vying for attention in 2008.
At $2.635 million, the 3,120 square foot, three-bedroom, three-bath house was quite the investment. With floor-to-ceiling windows, an office, a laundry room, a large open living room, a family room, multiple fireplaces, gorgeous views from just about every window, a wrap-around deck, a swimming pool, a completely renovated kitchen, and a massive master bedroom, Ms. Panettiere's choice for a first home definitely showed signs of a well-developed sense of taste. Unfortunately, her taste in homes, has not always translated to her clothing choices. Since this recent misstep is uncharacteristic, we can only assume it is an isolated incident, and that we will see her wearing more attractive clothes, in keeping with her gorgeous sense of home décor, in the future.
